Welcome to South Molton a small market town on the edge of Exmoor.
South Molton fom Braunton it is just a half hour drive to South Molton if you want to see a farming community unchanged since the 1850’s with a livestock market every Thursday. The buzz and banter with animals being sold through a ring not pens then you will enjoy the friendly town of South Molton.
The indoor pannier market is every Thursday and Saturday between 8 am and 1 pm and is supported well by locals and visitors. A great atmosphere to meet and chat over coffee enjoying the hustle and bustle and admire the local farmer produce and handmade crafts like knitwear cards and jewellery.
Quince Honey Farm The world’s largest Honey Bee exhibition with 8 rooms of interaction
Visit Beeworld at Quince Farm and be amazed at the close up hive exhibitions of 18 colonies without needing protective clothing.See honey production, bee keeping, demos, candle rolling and honey tasting. For rainy days there is a large indoor soft play area. If the sun is out then the outdoor play area is great with a honeycomb ice cream at hand. Also on site is a cafe serving homemade hot food and Devon cream teas.
Melchior Chocolate Factory
Another rainy day activity that is very appealing is a visit to the chocolate factory in South Molton, North Devon. Try a 3 hour workshop with Carlo Melchior learning to work chocolate, tempering, working with moulds, and finishing truffles. And of course tasting !

Now to work off those chocolates at the largest indoor climbing wall in North Deon. Just 5 minutes from South Molton and within easy reach.
